Associated British Ports continued its significant contribution to the economy in the South of Scotland with an investment of £2.2 million in a new state-of-the-art warehouse at the Port of Ayr.

The new agribulk terminal will be 4,000 sqm and work began last year on construction on the West side of Griffin Dock.

The facility will add to ABP’s support of the Scottish Economy through the Ports of Ayr and Troon contributing £28 million to the local economy, which is part of a £40 million contribution to the economy in the UK as a whole. As an organisation ABP is worth £7.5 billion to the UK economy, and supports 119,000 jobs.

ABP’s investment across its network of ports is going to continue, as part of a 5 year investment programme worth £1 billion that intends to meet the needs of customers whose businesses rely on access to both international and domestic markets.
