MBA programmes with a pedigree

The Strathclyde MBA is one of the longest running MBAs in the UK and 2026 will see Strathclyde celebrate the 60th anniversary of its full time MBA programme which has been developing business leaders since 1966.

As well as the full time MBA which has January and September cohorts each year, Strathclyde also offers a part time Executive MBA which was established in 1976 – 2026 will be a year of note for the part time programme also as it marks its 50th anniversary.

The part time programme has intakes this September and next April and offers flexibility with online learning and intensive weekend classes

Strathclyde has been AMBA accredited for over 40 years and the business school, as a whole, was the first business school in Scotland to achieve triple accreditation from international accrediting bodies AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB.

All MBA students benefit from a renowned teaching programme which has evolved over the years to align with the latest business thinking. The Strathclyde MBA offers a broad range of business education, focusing on developing strategic management skills, leadership capabilities, and a global perspective. The curriculum includes core modules covering finance, marketing, economics, strategy, digital transformation, project management, entrepreneurial thinking, and sustainable organisations. Students will also take part in a boardroom challenge and consulting impact challenge where small teams will work on a live client problem.

Aside from the academic side of the MBA, Strathclyde also offers practical learning through workshops, site visits, guest lectures and its innovative Global Practitioners initiative.

Global Practitioners connect the academic and practice worlds and come from a diverse range of industries and backgrounds, reflecting the broad nature of subjects addressed in the business school’s general management programmes and the rich variety of students and colleague profiles in its learning environment. The Global Practitioner initiative was shortlisted for AMBA’s Best Innovation Strategy Award in 2024 – an award introduced by AMBA to recognise and reward game-changing new practices, risks and creativity around a school’s programmes.

Strathclyde’s MBA also allows students to personalise their learning through electives – which are reviewed annually – and Summer School on campus in Glasgow where students on the full time and executive MBA classes in Glasgow can meet and network with students from Strathclyde’s international centres. The MBA is completed by undertaking the capstone project which can be chosen to match your ambitions as it can be done as a research project, entrepreneurial project or consultancy project.

Strathclyde’s part-time Executive MBA is supported by a dynamic virtual classroom and this programme can be completed in just two years.

Strathclyde is able to offer a range of scholarships available to applicants across both full-time and part-time Executive MBA programmes.
