New cancer support centre opens

Ayrshire Cancer Support is delighted to announce that their new cancer support centre in Ayr is now open.

The charity’s Make it Happen campaign began back in 2020, when it became evident there was a need for a dedicated cancer support centre in Ayr, offering the same facilities as the charity’s Kilmarnock Centre, and more. Without any free specialist services for children and young people affected by cancer in the area, Ayrshire Cancer Support knew they needed to fill this gap.

Ayrshire Cancer Support would like to thank everyone who has supported and contributed to this project – without whom the Ayr Centre would not have been possible. Everyone who has donated, become a Founding Sponsor, held a fundraising event, signed up to become a regular giver or who has given a grant towards our project has played a very important part in making this centre a reality.

Services which were previously being offered in the Kyle Chemotherapy Unit, Ailsa Campus, will now return to 7 Prestwick Road; along with a wide variety of groups, courses and workshops.

The charity will host an Open Day in the near future, where members of the public will be able to drop-in and learn more about the services on offer. Keep your eyes peeled for more details on this.
