We are celebrating 22 members of our bid consultancy team achieving Chartered or Associate Management Consultant status over the past six months, providing our clients with independently assured chartered consultancy support on complex and high value programmes. This milestone follows our business-wide training and development programme being independently accredited against ChMC standards in August 2024 and 2025.
This accreditation further differentiates our market-leading bid management and writing support and celebrates our commitment to long-term, constructive client partnerships. It reinforces our unique, consultancy-led approach; our focus on developing our people; and how we support clients on a range of complex and strategic projects.
“Congratulations to EIBās first programme cohort in achieving Chartered Management Consultant. Achieving this milestone is not just a number – it reflects the growth and direction of our profession. Chartered status sets a benchmark for excellence, helping consultants demonstrate their expertise and integrity to clients, teams, and society.ā
Emma Jones, Head of ChMC, CMI
Demonstrating best practice through the ChMC process
Each consultant completed a formal written assessment and professional discussion that tested how they apply professional judgement, deliver impact for clients and maintain the ethical and development standards expected of Chartered Management Consultants.
Through this process, our team demonstrated close alignment of the EiB Way with ChMCās 54 competencies, including leadership, strategy and analysis, operational delivery, client and market engagement, ethics and professional development. The process encouraged meaningful reflection on individual achievements, client impact and future personal development.
āMy ChMC application provided a good opportunity for me to step back and reflect on my work in bid consultancy. It reminded me of many achievements from the first five years of my career and has motivated me to continue striving for excellence. Iām very grateful to EiB for the opportunity and the support I received from my colleagues during the process.ā
Imogen Allen, Senior Bid Consultant & Marketing Manager, EiB
Providing benefits to our clients and commissioning bodies
For our clients, this accreditation offers independent assurance about the quality of our support. We provide clients with specialist trusted advisers, not just transactional bid writers, who take responsibility for outcomes. This ensures our consultants bring constructive challenge at every stage of the process, testing assumptions, strengthening decision making and improving the quality of final submissions.
For commissioning bodies, our best practice consultancy approach leads to better-aligned and more credible submissions. We help our clients respond directly to commissioning requirements, with stronger evidence and a more transparent account of risk, cost and benefit. Acting as a critical friend to our clients, we uphold expectations around accountability, ethical practice and value for money.
This achievement reinforces our commitment to continual learning and professional development through our training and development programme. We use the ChMC framework to give individuals a clear structure for developing their consulting skills and leadership capability. This focus on continual improvement strengthens the quality, confidence and maturity of the support we provide.
Our Chartered Management Consultants will act as mentors for future cohorts, supporting others through the accreditation process and embedding these standards across the business.
Sharing best practice and shaping the profession
Beyond accreditation, our consultants actively contribute to shaping best practice across the wider profession. Caitlin Murphy, Deputy CEO at EiB, was invited to participate in a Chartered Management Institute panel, contributing to industry-wide discussion on consultancy best practice and the practical application of the ChMC framework. Through this forum, Caitlin shared insights from EiBās consultancy-led approach to bid management, including how professional judgement, ethical practice and constructive challenge translate into better client outcomes. By actively contributing to the development and interpretation of professional standards, EiB embeds best practice internally and helps shape the future of the consulting profession ā reinforcing our position as a trusted adviser and industry leader for clients and commissioning bodies alike.
