University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School has been awarded five years accreditation for its full-time MBA (Masters of Business Administration) programme, by AMBA (Association of MBAs).

The announcement follows a comprehensive assessment by AMBA which took place in June 2018. 

The assessment was conducted by a panel of global business school experts, comprised of programme and academic directors and deans, alongside AMBA’s UK Director of Accreditation, Katherine O’Flynn.

AMBA is a leading authority on recognising high quality postgraduate management education. Established in 1967, its accreditations have become widely acknowledged as the gold standard for all MBA programmes.

The School has held accreditation from AMBA for the quality of its Glasgow MBA course since 1988 and has been accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International) since 2006. Earlier this year the School received a five-year accreditation from EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) making it part of a select group of business schools worldwide that hold the crown of triple accreditation.

Adam Smith Business School also holds accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) for its MSc in International Human Resource Management Development and MA in Business and Management courses, and has accreditations from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS); Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW); Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).

Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world, and has been named Scottish University of the Year 2018. The University includes among its alumni the father of economics Adam Smith, and the Adam Smith Business School is named in his honour.
