The Association of Scottish Businesswomen hosted their National Business Awards at the Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee.

Visiting ASB members were given the opportunity to make the most of the trip to the City of Discovery, with a design challenge at the newly opened V & A museum, in order to introduce them to Design Thinking, and solve problems that come up within their business.

The event itself was a showcase and celebration of the many great achievements of women working across all sectors in Scotland. Sponsored by Re:markable and Gallaghers Insurance, the evening gave out awards in twelve different categories to both members and non-members, with 50 of Scotland’s best and brightest businesswomen and professionals being named finalists before the event.

Attendees were treated to a keynote speech from Scottish Chambers of Commerce Chief Executive, Liz Cameron OBE. Liz highlighted the importance of values-based businesses and cascading those core values to the everyday operations of business including customer service, employee engagement and investment decisions.

Wendy Maltman, President of the ASB, said “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome such high calibre finalists to ‘Scotland’s coolest little city’ at such an exciting time in its history. Dundee is really buzzing at the moment and it serves as the perfect backdrop to honour these amazing business women.

“The Association of Scottish Businesswomen is so incredibly proud to play an integral role in shining a spotlight on the many successful and inspiring women in our business communities by facilitating the awards and giving the opportunity to praise and reward the most talented women for their achievements in business and in the community, recognising their hard work and dedication.”
