Sandra Antonovic is the Chief Operating Officer of Reflex Marine Ltd, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of offshore personnel transfer equipment. From the company’s headquarters in Bristol, she helps lead the commercial direction of a business whose products protect workers in some of the world’s most demanding offshore environments, supporting operators across more than 85 countries. Her work spans offshore oil and gas, offshore wind, defence, marine construction and emerging energy sectors, where safety, innovation and reliability are paramount.
Sandra’s career has been built at the intersection of engineering and international business. Originally from Croatia, she has established herself as one of the most recognised commercial leaders within the UK’s offshore energy supply chain. Over the past decade she has helped transform Reflex Marine from a respected engineering manufacturer into a truly global business, leading market development, commercial strategy and the successful launch of new products that continue to set industry standards.
As Chief Operating Officer, Sandra works across every stage of the business—from identifying new opportunities and understanding customer requirements to overseeing product commercialisation and supporting long-term international partnerships. She believes that successful innovation begins with listening, and that the strongest businesses are those that remain close to their customers while never compromising on quality or safety.
Her influence extends well beyond her own organisation. Sandra serves on the Board of the Energy Industries Council (EIC), the world’s largest trade association for companies supplying the energy industry, and is Chair of its Southern Regional Committee. Through these roles she works with business leaders from across the sector to strengthen the UK’s industrial capabilities, encourage collaboration and help companies navigate the rapidly changing global energy landscape. She is also a regular speaker at industry events and an advocate for British engineering, manufacturing excellence and international trade.
Throughout her career Sandra has championed continuous learning. Fluent in several languages and fascinated by different cultures, she believes that international business is built as much on understanding people as it is on understanding markets. Her curiosity has enabled her to develop relationships across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, helping British engineering compete successfully on a global stage.
She is equally passionate about encouraging more women into engineering and senior leadership. Rather than seeing diversity as a corporate objective, Sandra views it as a business advantage that strengthens decision-making, encourages innovation and produces better outcomes for customers and employees alike.
Away from the boardroom, Sandra is an accomplished photographer whose work has been exhibited in the UK. Photography, travel and literature continue to inspire her professional life, reinforcing the value of observation, curiosity and seeing familiar challenges from a different perspective.
For Sandra, leadership is not defined by hierarchy but by responsibility. Whether working with customers, colleagues or industry partners, she believes that lasting success is achieved through integrity, collaboration and an unwavering commitment to making people safer.
“The most meaningful innovations are often the ones people don’t notice—because they quietly make the world’s most challenging jobs safer every single day.”
