Through its commitment in supporting the northeast community, Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) has lit the torch of hope for school children with asthma in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire schools by generously backing the Asthma and Allergy Foundation’s essential Asthma Workshops. The generous donation by CNRL and subsequent cheque presentation by Barry Duncan at the Foundation’s Aberdeen City Centre Office, symbolises a powerful step towards creating a healthier, more asthma aware community and asthma friendly schools.

Barry Duncan, the Managing Director & Vice President Finance at CNRL, stood as a living testament to the cause, bravely sharing his own experience of living with asthma. During his visit to the Foundation, he said, “As an asthma sufferer myself, I believe that raising awareness about this condition and educating people on how to respond during an asthma attack is of paramount importance.”

CNRL’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Asthma and Allergy Foundation and its mission to provide practical support to children, young people and adults with asthma speaks volumes about its dedication to the health and wellbeing of the people of northeast. It is not just a donation but a declaration of support to school children to learn to manage their asthma and improve both health and education outcomes.

Martina Chukwuma-Ezike, the Chief Executive of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation, welcomed Mr. Duncan and expressed her gratitude. “The Asthma and Allergy Foundation is immensely thankful to Barry Duncan and the entire CNRL management for their generous contribution and tireless efforts in building a healthier community through awareness and education that can make a very significant difference to families managing asthma. Countless lives, especially those of children and young people, will be transformed as a result of this kind donation.”

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation focus on the importance of patient education in the management of asthma and provides essential asthma workshops, advise and support, including evidence-based health information on asthma and vital resources for people living with asthma and allergies and their families. CNRL’s kind donation will serve as a beacon, fortifying their mission to empower and educate, especially in schools where asthma management and education play a pivotal role.

This partnership between CNRL and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation is not just the kind donation; it is a union of hearts, inspiring hope and fostering better health outcomes throughout the community.
