Formed in September 2019 by husband and wife team in their perfectly normal looking semi-detached house in Ardrossan, the Inventor’s Gin Co. draw inspiration from the land and sea, fused with Scotland’s rich history of world changing inventions and discoveries.

Their multi-award winning first gin is inspired by Scotland’s contributions to the Industrial Revolution – using hand picked and dried Ayrshire nettle and heather to root the spirit to the landscape, and home smoked, pink peppercorns and red chillies stoke the fire of your soul.

The gin was entered into a global competition with around 600 other spirits at The London Spirit Awards in 2022 and again in 2023 – taking the silver medal spot on both occasions.

Most of the Inventor’s Gin Co. gin making equipment is home made using as many recycled and upcycled parts as possible, with the cooling water recycled to minimise use. The Inventor’s Gin Co. team stopped using single use plastic cups at events in mid 2022, saving over 2000 single use plastic cups going to landfill to date. All packaging materials are recycled or recyclable with normal household collections.

This commitment to minimise impact on the environment by the Inventor’s Gin Co. team is ingrained in their ethos throughout the business.

In November 2023, the team entered yet another national competition, hosted by The Gin To My Tonic Awards.

Distilleries from across the UK were shortlisted by an expert judging panel. Then Finalist voting was opened to a public vote, where over 10,000 individual votes were cast.

The Inventor’s Gin Co. walked away with Silver in the ‘Best Sustainable Distillery’ category, further solidifying their commitment to sustainable distilling. The team are thrilled with the accolade.

The Inventor’s Gin Co. team start 2024 buoyed by the public’s reaction the Inventor’s Gin Co, their response to the taste of the gin itself and the realisation that there is a gin distillery in Ardrossan.
