First Bus, a leader in the transport revolution towards net zero, has bolstered the range of support it can offer to businesses across Glasgow and Aberdeen to help them reach their zero emission targets.

To meet its targets of a fully zero emission fleet by 2035, First Bus has already made a significant investment in its fleet and the supporting infrastructure required. Its Glasgow Caledonia depot is the largest EV charging station in the UK and now has the capability to utilise power generated from an on-site substation through its 150 dual-headed chargers.

Since October 2022, First Bus has successfully helped UK delivery company DPD and Police Scotland accelerate their decarbonisation plans and carry out more green journeys in Glasgow in a milestone move which allowed both organisations to charge their electric vehicles using the infrastructure at the transport operator’s Caledonia depot.

From July 2023, an additional two First Bus sites will be fully electrified at Scotstoun in Glasgow and at King Street in Aberdeen. This will allow First Bus to expand its offering to businesses in Glasgow while providing the first B2B charging operation of its kind in the Aberdeen.

Throughout the process of building these future-proofed bus depots of the future, First Bus has gained the expertise and knowledge that it believes can assist other businesses in moving their decarbonisation plans forward, while also having the infrastructure to limit the level of investment required to get such plans off the ground.

As a result, First Bus is offering the following partnership opportunities to businesses across Scotland:

B2B charging at a competitive rate using Ultra-Fast Charging infrastructure

A consultation service providing expertise on how to decarbonise vehicle fleets

Joining a consortium to bid for funding which would provide access to electric vehicle leasing at preferential rates, allowing bus and coach SMEs to start their own EV transition.
