Inverness charity Partnerships for Wellbeing (PFW) is marking its 20th anniversary this month with a move to new premises on the outskirts of the city. It has taken over a ground floor office suite at Cradlehall Business Park, previously occupied by Succession Wealth. The new accessible location offers better parking for the charity’s fleet of five community transport cars which are used by volunteer drivers to take older and disabled adults to medical and day-care appointments across the city.
Manager Jeff Zycinski joined the charity three years ago after a 25 year career with BBC Scotland including twelve years in charge of Radio Scotland. He’s says PFW was once one of the best-kept secrets in Inverness, but he’s used his previous skills in communication to build the charity’s profile and bring in funds to help with expansion plans.
“PFW works with a small army of volunteers to run the transport service alongside weekly health walks and friendship clubs. We’re all about helping people live a long life well.”
PFW’s community transport service makes almost a thousand journeys each week and has a client base of 750 older adults, 65 of whom are wheelchair users.
