Kibble is a specialist child and youth care charity and leading social enterprise that supports at risk children and young people (aged 5-26) across the UK.

Many of the young people we care for have experienced trauma and/or adversity, therefore, using a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach we empower young people through care, education and support to open opportunities and create positive futures.

As one of Scotland’s oldest charities, we have been here for children and young people for over 160 years, and our mission to support young people who need our help the most, remains as strong as our roots. By providing a wide range of services shaped around individual need, and with the support of families and carers, partners and communities, we help young people find stability, happy childhoods, a rewarding education and opportunities.

Services shaped around young people

At Kibble, there’s no such thing as one size fits all; each person is unique, and our successful model reflects this. Our services include residential care, primary, secondary and tertiary education, an education day hub, secure care, fostering and adult placement, therapeutic support, community-based services and housing support.

Services are strengthened by external partners and community groups to widen support and expand opportunities for young people. This is reflected in our successful partnership with St Mirren FC, which brings unrivalled employability, education and training opportunities for young people through our Skills Academy.

Employability opportunities are aligned to the current job market and young people can gain skills and qualifications in areas such as: catering, hospitality and retail, along with apprenticeships in grounds keeping and maintenance. The partnership is also addressing local deprivation and exclusion through youth employment, tackling food poverty, community engagement initiatives, activities and events.
