Virtual Trade mission to Florida, USA
To help businesses gain a better understanding of this market, Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, as part of the International Trade Partnership with The Scottish Government and the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, are hosting a free virtual trade mission on 12 November 2024 which will focus on doing business in Florida.
Why Florida?
Scotland and the State of Florida have enjoyed longstanding, highly-developed ties in terms of language, culture, education, science, technology, transport, tourism, and commerce. Today the UK (including Scotland) is among Florida’s most significant economic partners, while Florida ranks among the top American states for British businesses.
Florida’s $1.5 trillion economy is 14th in the world – bigger than those of the Netherlands and Mexico and about the same size as Spain. Home to more than 22 million residents, Florida is now the 3rd most populous U.S. state with one of the fastest growing economies.
British exports to Florida totalled $2.6 billion in 2022, making the UK Florida’s 14th largest source of merchandise imports.
Florida is a key point of entry for Scottish goods and services into the USA, both to serve the local Florida market, and as a gateway to other markets throughout the USA. As well as a gateway to access emerging markets in Latin America and the Caribbean.
