Maggie’s offers a lifeline to people with cancer and their loved ones. Our expert staff have years of experience in oncology and are equipped with the knowledge to help people better understand their cancer diagnosis and treatment

Each of our centres have cancer support specialists, psychologists and benefits advisors who can guide people towards the support they need.

The demand for our support is growing every day, especially due to the increase in the number of young people being diagnosed with cancer – we’ve seen a 44% increase in people attending our young people’s support groups1.

Graeme Humphries was supported by Maggie’s in Edinburgh after he underwent surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy for a brain tumour.

He said: “At Maggie’s, I was treated with a unique sense of empathy and understanding. Everyone in there just knew what to say at the right time. It was really hard to talk to my family about how I was feeling but I could talk at Maggie’s.

“It was Maggie’s that gave me the starting blocks to put my life back together and realise it’s worth living. It honestly saved my life.”

Maggie’s works with the NHS to help people get the support they need, regardless of their cancer type, location, treatment or experiences with cancer to date. At Maggie’s we help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down.

At Christmas, people with cancer can also feel more overwhelmed than ever and that’s why we need your support.

With your donation Maggie’s will be able to provide vital practical and emotional support this Christmas and beyond, including delivering cancer support sessions from our centres.

Our cancer support sessions are provided by Cancer Support Specialists who provide a consistent and personalised guide through the challenges of a cancer diagnosis whether it’s:

  • Breaking difficult news to family and friends
  • Helping to understand complex test results
  • Offering companionship and support while a loved one has treatment
  • We can’t do this without your support, please donate today:
  • £1,000 could pay for 50 people with cancer to get immediate support from one of our cancer support specialists
  • £3,000 can help keep a Maggie’s centre open for a day, meaning everyone can just come in for help
  • £10,000 could pay for 90 people with advanced cancer to receive practical and emotional end of life support
