Every day, ABB technologies empower our customers to electrify, optimize and decarbonize their businesses and so ABB is playing a key role in enabling the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon energy economy.

In some ways this is not new. ABB has been promoting energy efficiency for over 140 years. But today the energy transition is a strategic priority for ABB Energy Industries in the UK, Ireland and across the world. Our electrification, automation and digitalization technologies are helping businesses to make life more sustainable as people continue to move, produce, work and live.

We’re currently working with our customers on many different projects across the UK and Ireland to support the energy transition. Our technologies are supporting the ramp up of renewable power. For example, ABB is involved in eight UK Offshore Wind projects, including Dogger Bank, which is the world’s largest offshore wind farm off the east coast of Yorkshire and Seagreen, Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm.

Further afield, we’re working with our partners on a project to drive the large-scale integration of offshore wind renewable hydrogen into the Swedish energy system. And in Denmark, we’re helping to build the world’s first dynamic green ammonia plant connected directly to renewable energy.

ABB technologies will continue to help ramp up decarbonization projects ahead of the UK and EU’s legally binding 2050 net zero commitments.
