Reflex Marine has gained a reputation for being a global expert in offshore crew transfer equipment. We are a leader in the development, design and manufacturing of crew transfer equipment, between vessels and offshore structures for any operation at sea. We are dedicated to providing safe methods of personnel transfer, managing risks and improving safety standards in the global offshore industry.
Helping offshore workers return home safely from their place of work is at the core of Reflex Marine’s mission, and for over 30 years we have been developing a range of carriers using patented, one-of-a-kind technology. The carriers are unique in the market having the ability to float and self-right in water.
With a wide array of experience spanning multiple industries, Reflex Marine is widely recognised as the global leader in offshore access solutions, and is best known for the FROG transfer device, now an industry benchmark.
Our company was founded in Aberdeen, from where our manufacturing base ships products to over 80 countries across all continents. While exports now represent more than 90% of Reflex Marine’s sales, the North Sea has been our home market since 2005, with around 200 units currently operating in most of its oil and gas installations. The FROG-XT4 unit is the preferred type of product in this area.
Reflex Marine is committed to innovation, and the FROG-XT range has taken crane transfer safety to a new level. Subjected to rigorous testing and with many new and improved features, the FROG-XT is the newest generation of crane transfer device to hit the personnel transfer market. It is available in a range of capacities, including 2, 4, 6 and 10-person units.
Other signature products include STORM-WORK, a work basket designed for working at height over water, and WAVE-4, a standing crew-transfer device, offering a crane transfer solution for installations with limited space. STORM-WORK features a self-righting design in case of immersion, anti-snagging features and a safe working zone to protect workers from injury. These features have brought industry recognition, with the STORM-WORK winning the Safety Award at the 2019 LEEA Awards. WAVE-4’s design makes landing, storing and shipping even more convenient, and has similarly been recognised, having won Seatrade’s ‘Safety at Sea’ award.
Reflex Marine is committed to delivering quality customer experience. We provide a global support package which ensures that clients can maximize the use of their products, improving and expanding safe operations. This integrated package includes risk assessments, training, servicing and maintenance for as long the product is in use.
To make sure support is as efficient as possible, we have a global network of service partners who are licensed to provide maintenance support. This ensures that any immediate need for parts or repairs is solved as swiftly as possible through the closest service network.
At Reflex Marine we believe it is important to share our experience and expertise. We have led many joint industry initiatives promoting safe access and developed the Golden Rules for crane transfer operations, which we hope will become recognised as a global standard in best practice.
Today, there are over a thousand of Reflex Marine’s transfer devices operating all over the world, and we are involved in over a million safe transfers performed each year. Despite this widespread use, over the last 17 years, there has not been a single lost time incident involving one of our products. As the offshore energy industry adapts and changes going into the future, we will draw on our expertise to continue facilitating safe transfer of crew be it in the oil and gas industry, decommissioning operations, or in the offshore wind sector.
