London Gatwick Airport has just become the pioneer among international airports by unveiling its very own exclusive electric vehicle charging station – the Electric Forecourt®. Developed by Gridserve, this cutting-edge facility hosts 30 electric vehicle chargers, all powered by 100% net zero carbon energy.

Electric Forecourt® is equipped with 22 high-power chargers delivering up to 350kW, these chargers are among the fastest publicly available today adding 100 miles of range in just five minutes.

The introduction of these new chargers has skyrocketed the airport’s charging capacity by five times. They are open to all electric vehicle drivers, including passengers, London Gatwick staff, and the local community.

Last week, Callum Turner, Regional Sales Manager from Wilson Power Solutions Ltd had the privilege of attending an opening event. With the launch of the Electric Forecourt®, London Gatwick is making great strides toward its net zero goal by 2030, especially with a whopping 32.9 million passengers in 2022. Now that’s a journey worth celebrating.
