David Timis, alumnus of the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School has been named as one of The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) 2019 Influential Leaders.

The award recognizes notable alumni from AACSB-accredited schools whose inspiring work serves as a model for the next generation of business leaders.

David Timis is an EU Civics Outreach Fellow at Google. He previously worked as a Project Manager at Google, where he coordinated the most ambitious digital skills training program in Romania, Atelierul Digital. He is also the Co-Founder of European Heroes, an initiative aimed at encouraging civic engagement among young Europeans and an active member of the Global Shapers Community, a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges.

David said: “After working for almost a year and a half in Fast Moving Consumer Goods companies, directly applying some of the theories and skills I acquired in the Adam Smith Business School, I used some of my intercultural communications and diplomacy, learned while navigating my way through student-life at Glasgow University in my role as Youth Delegate at the United Nations and as a member of the Global Shaper Community, part of the World Economic Forum.”

David was named ‘Young Leader of the Year’ in Romania by Revista Cariere and included on the Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ list, as a result of his continuous work to promote education, digital skills, and entrepreneurship among young people. 

Now its fourth year, the AACSB Influential Leaders challenge has recognised almost 200 business school graduates for creating lasting impact in business and society. All honorees have earned an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree from one of the more than 800 AACSB-accredited business schools worldwide.
