St. James’s Place Wealth Management is an award-winning FTSE 100 company. Our Academy provides high calibre, driven and diverse individuals with no previous experience, an exciting opportunity to build a career in wealth management as part of a two-year career change programme.
The opportunity is best suited to highly motivated individuals with an aptitude for building strong relationships from within their network and the ability to develop new ones. Successful candidates join us from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, typically with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
We provide technical, marketing and training expertise, supported by our established network of knowledgeable and experienced mentors. Further business development assistance is constantly available through our Academy management teams, complimented by the many specialists who operate from our nationwide network of offices.

The Edinburgh Academy
Since launching in 2016, it has expanded across Scotland and Northern Ireland and spreads across the locations of Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle and Belfast. The Academy has run 6 programmes to date and the last programme, which started in December 2018, recognised the achievement of a great milestone – the selection of their 100th candidate.
To date, 35% of candidates who have joined have come from other careers, most have no financial services experience and the Academy’s growth has been aided by a series of successful open evening events, which are held regularly across Scotland and Northern Ireland. These informal events provide guests with an opportunity to find out more about what the Academy offers to men and women looking to change careers, whilst also enabling them to speak to Academy graduates, each with their own unique story about their journey through the programme, as well as what life has been like for them after graduating as a qualified wealth advice professional. Most now run their own businesses as a St. James’s Place Partner whilst others have joined an established St. James’s Place Practice as an Adviser.
