The UWS Centre for Continuing Professional Development is proud to present a series of FREE digital CPD taster sessions.

Meet our expert academics and find out more about short course opportunities that are on offer via the UWS Centre for Continuing Professional Development.  The UWS CPD Team have worked very closely with each School in the University to develop CPD courses that support Scotland’s post-pandemic economic recovery through upskilling, re-skilling and new-skilling.

These taster sessions are a great way to explore UWS CPD courses in more detail, as participants will have the opportunity to chat directly with our academics about course content, delivery methods, and potential career pathways and progressions after studying with us.

Taster sessions will run as follows:

Monday 14th November

10am to 11am: Leading & Transforming Together/

Risk Assessment and Management Approaches with Mark Gillespie

12pm to 1pm:   The Future of Events with Jenny Flinn

Tuesday 15th November

3pm to 4pm:  SWITCH Forum Waste Industry modules with Jan Miller

Wednesday 16th November

12pm to 1pm: Leadership Modules with Dr Christian Harrison

Thursday 17th November

10am to 11am: Environmental Clerk of Works (EnvCoW) with Professor Andrew Hursthouse

12pm to 1pm: Digital Transformation for Business with Theo Tzanidis

The UWS CPD Team will also be on hand to discuss funding support for our January start courses. Thanks to the Upskilling Fund (a Scottish Funding Council initiative that aims to address skills gaps across the country), the UWS Centre for Continuing Professional Development are offering industry leading short courses at no cost, or at a heavily subsidised rate to individuals and businesses.

More information about the UWS Upskilling Fund, including information on eligibility criteria can be found here.

All of the taster sessions will take place on Zoom and are expected to last around 45 minutes including time for questions. The taster sessions are free to attend, but advanced registration is required to secure your place.  If you would like to attend more than one session, you only need to register once.
