Glasgow Tech Week
Glasgow City Innovation District is the founder of Glasgow Tech Week, Scotland’s first and only tech week which in 2025 saw over 40 events take place across the city. The week is designed to be accessible to all and offer educational workshops, tech demos, founder spotlights and networking opportunities, bringing together over 3,000 attendees. Glasgow Tech Week will take place from 7 – 11 September 2026, with more information announced in early 2026.
Glasgow City Innovation District Venture Studio
In 2024, GCID launched the groundbreaking Glasgow City Innovation District Venture Studio, a strategic initiative that has since become a powerful engine for economic development, job creation, investment attraction, and innovation-led inclusion in Glasgow. Established with funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by Glasgow City Council and the UK government, the GCID Venture Studio represents a new model for inclusive innovation.
The Venture Studio is centred around four key pillars, Challenge, Make, Innovate, and Impact, each designed to support enterprise growth, respond to market and societal needs, and strengthen Glasgow’s position as a global innovation hub. In its first year, the Venture Studio has engaged with over 60 businesses across industries, created real-world economic value, and delivered a scalable framework for long-term development. Through targeted grant funding, technical support, and mentoring, the Venture Studio has empowered local companies to develop market-ready solutions using emerging technologies like space data and AI. It has helped creative entrepreneurs shape globally competitive products, funded programmes focussed on supporting underrepresented groups and given high-potential businesses the tools to grow and attract investment.
