That’s a question we ask of every client campaign, and it’s been a rule of thumb for my career too.

The easy route has never really appealed to me – a sense of adventure, a fascination with people, and a love of creativity have led to some interesting places and ultimately culminated with me launching Korero, an integrated PR and Marketing agency in 2014.

From reporting from the picket lines as a newspaper reporter to reading the morning bulletins as a radio journalist or advising a board of executives on how to communicate a merger and managing the media response to a major incident all the communications activity that I’ve been involved with over the last 25 years comes down to sparking human connections through effective storytelling.

Korero was born out of a desire to raise the bar.

I wanted to create a business that built trusted relationships with our clients. Where we understood what made them tick and could connect the dots between their business ambitions, strategic PR and marketing and their customers. One where they didn’t feel like the meter was always running.

I’m proud of our growing team. We love supporting clients around the globe. And yes, what we do does make me excited. Hearing that a client has secured a win after their stories struck a chord on social media or on the news pages will never get boring.
