From starting work as Club Secretary to the Perth Hunt in January 2003, Morag has progressed significantly within the business and now holds the position of Director of Operations. Titles however are not something that Morag focusses on, her focus is on teamwork and hard work.

Throughout the 20 years at Perth Racecourse, Morag has grown the business by closely following the corporate and consumer trends along with recognising the financial peaks and troughs that happen along the way.

What has been one of the highlights working at Perth Racecourse?

It doesn’t feel like work to me! Each raceday I’m excited and ready to start the day. To see all the corporate clients, and public racegoers, coming in happy and most of all seeing them leave happy is the best reward. The core product we offer is sport (and fun!) and the customer is always first.

We are a small team; we all work hard, and we work together. This is key to the success of any business but especially when you are running events. One of the highlights for me is the team working together and now, I’m leading the team, it’s as important now as it was on my first day here and it always will be.
