TMC Transformers is a global company active in the manufacture of medium and low voltage transformers and reactors, both cast resin and VPI.

TMC put together a carefully selected group of engineers and technicians with vast experience in the design and manufacture of distribution and special transformers: two different souls combined together under a single roof, to offer customers the most suitable technology and service. TMC focuses on dry type transformers and reactors for all the applications worldwide, such as building and infrastructures, traction substations, marine and offshore, oil and gas, battery storage, mining, data center, power plants, e-mobility and in particular renewable energy.

Due to ongoing efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, an increasing number of states and countries are turning to renewable energy sources: this makes the Powergen industry one of the most strategic asset of our times and for TMC investments.

The Renewable application

Renewables applications and installation require extreme flexibility and high-performance products for achieving the ambitious target to be reliable and to reach a real benefit both in terms of ecological impact (important reduction of losses) and in terms of plant efficiency.

In several markets an attention to the quality of the product, with low losses, and high efficiency mean high energy savings that correspond to Co2 reduction, in line with the green transition, occurring in recent years that most of the people are trying to achieve in the world.

TMC Transformers has wide experience in the manufacturing of dry type transformers in this kind of application. We’re talking about green technology, full ambient compliant that is not polluting but recyclable, which can be used in outdoor application where typically people use oil solutions.

To guarantee a high level of reliability of the transformer, TMC have certified its products with one of the highest ratings available in the market, achieved through a good protection of the transformer and a particular design, that enabled it to reach the E4 C5 F1 certification.

This certifies our products to be used in challenging environments, thanks to its high environmental class for highly polluted areas, as well as climatic class, for transport, storage and operation at very low temperatures (up to -50° for operating and -60° for storage and transport), and resistance to fire hazard.

TMC have infact developed a range of highly robust and efficient dry-type, outdoor transformers, rigorously type-tested to offer high performance, safety and durability in the harshest of environmental conditions.

Main points:

  • Up to IP55 or NEMA 3R protection
  • Maintenance free
  • Zero explosion/fire risk
  • Reduced costs for civil works and fire protection systems
  • Compact footprint to replace liquid filled transformers
  • Copper or Aluminium windings

A sustainable world of transformers

TMC strives daily to optimize production processes, to reduce waste and create products that have low emissions and overall impact on the environment. The continuous research for eco-friendly alternative materials and the use of energy from renewable sources are just some of the goals of our process engineering. In fact, TMC implemented a policy to protect and conserve the environment.

TMC has also launched a project to define the Life Cycle Assessment and the Environmental Product Statement (EPD) certification for the processors. This green passport will certify TMC’s commitment to the environment.
